Because there is a great degree of variation in treadmills; it pays to make certain that the running surface of your treadmill properly cushions the impact of your stride.

Smooth Fitness' exclusive EVO Swing Arm™ shock absorption system is designed to minimize the impact from running and walking. The custom design allows for a soft, forgiving foot landing on the front of the belt, while providing a firm push-off from the rear. This creates an ideal surface which reduces impact and relieves pressure on your lower body muscles and tendons, including your lower back.

The Swing Arm™ cushioning system is available on the FX4, FX4-M, EVO 1, 2, 3 and 3i.
